A messenger from the gods arrives in Zhao Ge, a kingdom ruled by the Shang dynasty for generations. But the current emperor, Zi Zhou, refuses to bow down to the gods and declares that he will no longer accept their tyranny. The gods are not pleased with this rebellion and send the neighboring kingdom of Wu Jifa to crush the rebellion. The Shang forces are quickly overwhelmed, and just when the capital is about to fall, Zhou joins the fight. He manages to break through the enemy ranks and make his way towards Jifa, but a god suddenly falls from the sky and stands before him, ready to personally deal with the rebellious emperor.
